Ms. Nastiq Kango
Ms. Nastiq Kango has practiced for more than 20 years as midwife in Iqaluit and Arctic Bay. Until recently, Ms. Kango served as the President for the Midwives Association of Nunavut. Previously, Ms. Kango was a City Councillor for Iqaluit where she represented the people of Iqaluit, and supported 4 committees within the council. Ms. Kango has a long history of educating others in the Inuit knowledge of maternal care, parenting and birthing by Elders and Inuit midwives from Arctic Bay, Iqaluit, Pond Inlet, Igloolik, Cape Dorset and Pangnirtung.
